Ultrasound and MRI use no radiation.

Scans of twins and other multiple pregnancies.

Fetal MRI when ultrasound leaves a question.

The scans of pregnancy

The early scan

  • The nuchal translucency scan, at eleven to thirteen weeks.

The detailed scan

  • The anomaly scan, which looks at the baby's body in detail.

The baby's well-being

  • Doppler, which checks the flow of blood to the baby.
  • Fetal echocardiography, an ultrasound of the baby's heart.

Special situations

  • Multiple pregnancy.
  • Advanced fetal scanning.

3D and 4D

  • 3D and 4D fetal sonography.

When more is needed

  • Fetal MRI.
  • Fetal interventional procedures.

Fetal MRI

When ultrasound leaves a question, an MRI looks at the baby's brain and body in more detail. It uses no radiation. Tesla has a 3 Tesla scanner, and the team that reads it also reads children's and neuro imaging.

Quick answers.

Are pregnancy scans safe for the baby?

Ultrasound uses no radiation, and has been used in pregnancy for decades. MRI uses none either.

Do I need a full bladder?

For some early scans, yes. The desk will tell you when you book.
